BIOGRAPHY
Florence Brunelle’s meteoric rise onto the international short track scene has been nothing short of spectacular.
After finishing second overall at her first Canadian Junior Championships, a 16-year old Brunelle went on to make history by winning Canada’s first ever short track medals at the Youth Olympic Games in 2020, with bronze in the 500m and 1000m. The native of Trois-Rivières followed that up a few weeks later with silver in both the 500m and 1500m at the 2020 World Junior Championships, becoming one of only four Canadian women to win multiple medals at that competition in the same year.
Brunelle earned a spot on the senior national team as a 17-year old and made her World Championships debut in 2021, earning top-10 results in the 500m and 1500m, helping her finish the competition ranked 14th overall.
