Graeme Fish

BIOGRAPHY

Graeme Fish broke onto the international scene during the 2019-2020 season and has quickly established himself as one of the top long-distance skaters in the world.

A native of Moose Jaw, Fish won silver in the 5000m at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George and brought home a pair of bronze medals, in the 5000m and Mass Start, from the 2017 World Junior Championships. He made his World Cup debut during the 2017-2018 season but missed out on qualifying for PyeongChang 2018.

Fish made waves during the 2019-2020 season, winning one silver and two bronze medals on the World Cup circuit, which propel him to third overall in the long distance rankings. He capped off his impressive campaign with a world record and world championship title in the 10,000m (12:33.868), along with a bronze medal in the 5000m, at the World Single Distance Championships in Salt Lake City.
Fish was the recipient of the Jeremy Wotherspoon Award for Male Long Track Athlete of the Year in 2020, joining Wotherspoon and Lucas Makowsky as the only Saskatchewan natives to claim the prize.
