BIOGRAPHY

Steven Dubois burst onto the scene following PyeongChang 2018 and has been a medal threat on the international stage ever since.

Dubois represented Canada at the 2016 World Junior Championships, brining home bronze in the 500m. He narrowly missed out on an Olympic team spot for PyeongChang 2018, finishing the Canadian Olympic Trails ranked sixth overall. He made his World Cup debut in 2017-2018, racing to gold in the men’s relay in his first ever competition.

It was not until after PyeongChang 2018 that Dubois found place among the world’s elite, winning four individual distance and four relay medals in his first full international campaign. He followed that up with an even more impressive season in 2019-2020, one that included a gold medal sweep of the 2019 Canadian Short Track Championships and another seven World Cup medals, including his first career gold medal in an individual distance. He was also crowned vice-champion at the inaugural Four Continents Championships in 2019, where he won silver in all four distances.

The Canadian record holder in the 500m at both the junior (41.204) and senior levels (39.845), Dubois was awarded the Marc Gagnon Award for Male Short Track Athlete of the Year in 2020.
