Family & Friends program ensures the “team behind the team” is recognized for their dedication to Canadian athletes in Milan
MILAN, ITALY – Speed Skating Canada is proud to unveil its Family & Friends program for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan, a collaboration with Intact Insurance that aims to honour and celebrate the contributions of each athlete’s loved ones to their success.
After months of preparation, the first days of Olympic racing have highlighted the impact of the Family & Friends program on Canadian families.
Mirabelle Kelly, Mother of William Dandjinou“Having support from Intact Insurance during our family’s first Olympic Games experience is incredible! As parents, we pour our hearts and energy into fueling the dreams of our athletes on and off the ice. To have this dedication and effort recognized is both rewarding and motivating. Thanks to Intact Insurance, the Family & Friends program offers each Canadian speed skating athlete’s cheering squad a pair of complimentary Olympic Games tickets, exclusive swag packages designed to help families showcase their Canadian pride in Milan, and a celebratory brunch hosted for athletes and their loved ones.
Joe Morissette, Chief Executive Officer, Speed Skating Canada“We are proud to be elevating the experience of Speed Skating Canada families during the excitement of these Olympic Games. Our athletes have worked tirelessly to achieve this goal of representing Cananda, and the support of their parents, siblings, partners, extended family and friends has propelled their careers forward.
