2022 ISU World Short Track Championships

Montreal welcomes the world

On the heels of winning an impressive four medals at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, Canada’s short track speed skaters are ready to cap off their season with a battle against the world’s very best on home ice in Montreal. This year's World Short Track Championships will also mark the end of the road for the legendary Charles Hamelin, who will hang up his skates and enter retirement following the competition.

Maurice Richard Arena

Named after the Quebec hockey legend, the Maurice Richard Arena is the second largest in the greater Montréal area, with modern facilities for major sports and recreational events. The arena is the longtime training centre for the Canadian national short track program and has hosted numerous international short track competitions, notably the ISU World Championships in 1987, 2002, 2014 and 2018.
