MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Courtney Sarault won Canada’s first medal of the 2019 ISU World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships, brining home bronze in the ladies 1500m on Saturday afternoon in Montreal.

All eight skaters remain in medal contention following an action-packed day of qualification races, advancing in 14 of 18 individual distances and in both the men’s and ladies’ 3000m relay.

The skaters will look to add to the twelve medals – three gold, three silver and six bronze – and ten top-5 finishes that Canada has earned on the World Cup circuit so far this season.
