Canada confirms skater lineup for ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Quebec City

29 Canadian skaters, including six from Quebec, set to compete on home ice at the Centre de glace Intact Assurance

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC – The world’s top long track speed skaters – including 29 Canadians representing seven different provinces – will take the ice this weekend in Quebec City for the ISU World Cup Speed Skating, which will take place at the Centre de glaces Intact Assurance from February 2-4.

An event 30 years in the making, this weekend’s World Cup will be the first hosted in Quebec City since the outdoor Anneau Gaétan-Boucher welcomed the world’s top male skaters back in 1992. This final World Cup of the 2023-24 season will feature 248 athletes, representing 28 countries.

A group of 29 Canadian long track skaters will wear the maple leaf this weekend. The Canadian team includes six Quebecois athletes and 11 Olympians, including medalists from Beijing 2022 such as Laurent Dubreuil, Valérie Maltais, Isabelle Weidemann and Ivanie Blondin.

Tickets remain available for all three competition days, starting at $4.00 for kids and $8.00 for adults in general admission, while premium tickets can be purchased for $11.00 for kids and $21.00 for adults.
