Canada names short track team for international events in Montreal and Laval

Skaters’ kick-off season with back-to-back World Cups in Montreal starting next weekend

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Speed Skating Canada announces today the composition of its short track team that will kick-off the international season with three consecutive weekends of exciting action on home ice in the Greater Montreal area.

The Maurice-Richard Arena in Montreal, longtime training centre for the Canadian national program, will host two consecutive ISU World Cup Short Track competitions, from October 20-22 and October 27-29. Racing will then shift to Laval for the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships, which run from November 3-5. It will mark the first international competition hosted at Place Bell.

The team nominations were made in accordance with relevant High Performance Bulletins following the 2023 Canadian Short Track Championships presented by Intact Insurance, which were hosted earlier this month in Montreal.
