Charles Hamelin’s legendary short track speed skating career came to an emotional end on Sunday, as the 37-year old led the Canadian men’s relay team to bronze at the ISU World Short Track Championships in Montreal.

Pascal Dion and Kim Boutin were both crowned vice World Champions at the conclusion of the ISU World Short Track Championships in Montreal on Sunday, marking the first time since 2016 that Canada has reached the overall podium in both the men’s and women’s overall in the same year.

Kim Boutin earned a pair of silver medals on the opening day of the ISU World Short Track Championships in Montreal, while hometown skater Pascal Dion brought home one of his own in front a of sold out crowd at the Maurice Richard Arena.

It was a double-medal day for Canada at ISU World Junior Short Track Championships in Poland, with Florence Brunelle and Ann-Sophie Bachand winning gold and silver in the women’s 500m.

The world’s best short track speed skaters will converge on Montreal next month for the ISU World Short Track Championships, which has been officially rescheduled from March 18-20 to April 8-10, 2022.
