Speed Skating Canada unveils full list of annual award winners from 2022-23 season

Kalyna Roberge and Jacques Gregoire inducted into Hall of Fame; Hayden Mayeur selected as Community Champion of the Year

OTTAWA, ONTARIO – Over the past few months, Speed Skating Canada has been busy presenting annual awards to variety of deserving recipients from across the Canadian speed skating community.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductees – short track skater Kalyna Roberge and short track official Jacques Gregoire – were honoured during a ceremony at the first ISU World Cup Short Track event in Montreal this past October. Members of the Boudreau-Alexandre Family also travelled from Rivière-du-Loup to receive their Gagné Family Award and experience World Cup action first-hand.

A few weeks later, David Richard and Nancy Wilson, co-recipients of this past season’s Volunteer of the Year award, were honoured in front of spectators at the home rink in Laval during the ISU Four Continents Short Track Championships.

Plans are underway to honour several other award recipients at the upcoming ISU World Cup Speed Skating event in Quebec City and the season-ending ISU World Speed Skating Championships in Calgary.
