Isabelle Weidemann won Team Canada’s first medal of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. The Ottawa native won bronze in the women’s 3000m at the National Speed Skating Oval on Saturday.
On Friday, the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games officially kicked-off with the Opening Ceremony. A handful of Speed Skating Canada athletes were lucky enough to attend the once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, including long track skater and budding photographer Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu, who captured some incredible behind-the-scenes photos.
Speed Skating Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee have announced 16 Canadian long track speed skaters nominated to compete at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
