Canada earned a pair of bronze medals on the opening day of ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Calgary. Ivanie Blondin reached the podium in the women’s 5000m, while Christopher Fiola, Laurent Dubreuil and Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu medalled in the men’s Team Sprint.

Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu earned the first individual distance World Cup medal of his career on Sunday, winning bronze in the 1000m alongside teammate, and silver medalist, Laurent Dubreuil.

Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu, Connor Howe and Hayden Mayeur led Canada to silver in the men’s Team Pursuit at the ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Calgary on Friday, crossing the line in near record time at the Olympic Oval.

Canada reached the podium four times during the final day of racing at the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships on Sunday, helping them cap off this first international competition in Quebec City in 30-years with 14 total medals.

Canada won four medals on the second day of racing at the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships in Quebec City, including gold from both Valérie Maltais and Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu.
